Afrib’s Inception
In 2021, our CEO Kenton Martin laid the foundation for our company’s journey with the establishment of Afrib, specializing in annotation services for computer vision projects
We began with a small team and a big vision, focusing on delivering high-quality annotation solutions to clients worldwide. This marked the beginning of our commitment to excellence and innovation in the AI industry
Annotation at scale
In 2022, with a team of only 6 annotators, we crossed significant milestones in annotation.

Our team’s dedication and expertise enabled us to achieve remarkable results, including over 1 million image annotations, over 500K text file annotations, and processing over 2TB of text and image data.
Enter ChatGPT
In November 2022, ChatGPT took the world by storm. We recognized the potential of the technology. In early 2023, we added LLM training to our catalogue of services, directly training leading foundation models like Cohere’s Command. This strategic move positioned us as innovators in AI training solutions
Pivot and rebrand
With increased demand in AI technology and a clear shortage in the talent required to build it, Afrib pivoted to an AI operations-as-a-service company.
Services
We re-branded the company to Afrib AI to capture the broader vision of the company. Our expanded services now include AI enablement and advanced AI training, covering areas such as RLHF, RAG development, and Foundation Model Finetuning.
